I've OpenSCAD 2021 on 2 differents pc. 1 win 10 and 1 win 7.
Autocomplete 'screen' is on win 7 ok but on win 10 very, very small. Even 3 letter command not full visable. It is also not possible to make it smaller or greater by mouse for example. I can nowhere find how to 'manipulate' the size of this pop-up screen. Can anyone help me out? Thanks in advantage! I tried on my Win-10 VM , it looks normal.
Could you post a screenshot, also the Help/Library-info from the W10 PC. Please describe the PC & monitor config, incl. the DPI setting. Does Edit/Increase-font-size do anything?

Hi Michael,
edit/increase results in no change of the size of popup window. You can read more of inside text when you extremely decrease font size. Documents/openscad/library is empty Hope you got the right info Thx Harm Jeurink Michael Marx schreef op 2021-05-01 07:05: > Could you post ..., also the Help/Library-info from the W10 PC. > > Does Edit/Increase-font-size do anything? > > > >> -----Original Message----- >> From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] >> Sent: Fri, 30 Apr 2021 21:35 >> To: OpenSCAD general discussion >> Subject: [OpenSCAD] Re: autocomplete popup VERY small >> >> Hi Michael, >> >> Please find enclosed 3 attached screendumps. >> >> Hope you can make anything of it, because my win 10 is dutch. >> >> Should you have any question please let me know. >> >> Regards, >> >> Harm Jeurink >> >> >> MichaelAtOz schreef op 2021-04-29 04:40: >> > I tried on my Win-10 VM , it looks normal. >> > >> > Could you post a screenshot, also the Help/Library-info from the W10 >> > PC. >> > >> > Please describe the PC & monitor config, incl. the DPI setting. >> > >> > Does Edit/Increase-font-size do anything? >> > OpenSCAD Admin - email* me if you need anything, or if I've done >> > something stupid... >> > * on the Forum, click on my MichaelAtOz label, there is a link to >> > email me. >> > >> > Unless specifically shown otherwise above, my contribution is in the >> > Public Domain; >> > to the extent possible under law, I have waived all copyright and >> > related or neighbouring rights to this work. >> > Obviously inclusion of works of previous authors is not included in >> > the above. >> > >> > ------------------------- >> > Sent from the OpenSCAD mailing list archive [1] at Nabble.com. >> > >> > >> > Links: >> > ------ >> > [1] http://forum.openscad.org/ >> > _______________________________________________ >> > OpenSCAD mailing list >> > To unsubscribe send an email to [hidden email] OpenSCAD mailing list To unsubscribe send an email to [hidden email] |
It may have been said, but afaik, the pop-up text size/font is the same
as the editor. The physical pop-up window size stays the same for whatever size text is used. If you do a few ctrl- to make the text smaller, and you get more text in the pop-up window. If you need larger text/everything, then there are settings in windows for that, afaik. Best wishes, Ray fwiw, I turned off the pop-up, it sort of gets in the way, so I turned it back on just to see what your problem was. Sorry, when I say Help/Library-info, I mean, run OpenSCAD, select the help menu, then whatever
translates from Library-info, a long list of information, copy that and paste here. > -----Original Message----- > From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] > Sent: Sat, 1 May 2021 19:43 > To: OpenSCAD general discussion > Subject: [OpenSCAD] Re: autocomplete popup VERY small > > Hi Michael, > edit/increase results in no change of the size of popup window. > You can read more of inside text when you extremely decrease font size. > > Documents/openscad/library is empty > > Hope you got the right info > > Thx > Harm Jeurink > > Michael Marx schreef op 2021-05-01 07:05: > > Could you post ..., also the Help/Library-info from the W10 PC. > > > > Does Edit/Increase-font-size do anything? > > > > > > > >> -----Original Message----- > >> From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] > >> Sent: Fri, 30 Apr 2021 21:35 > >> To: OpenSCAD general discussion > >> Subject: [OpenSCAD] Re: autocomplete popup VERY small > >> > >> Hi Michael, > >> > >> Please find enclosed 3 attached screendumps. > >> > >> Hope you can make anything of it, because my win 10 is dutch. > >> > >> Should you have any question please let me know. > >> > >> Regards, > >> > >> Harm Jeurink > >> > >> > >> MichaelAtOz schreef op 2021-04-29 04:40: > >> > I tried on my Win-10 VM , it looks normal. > >> > > >> > Could you post a screenshot, also the Help/Library-info from the W10 > >> > PC. > >> > > >> > Please describe the PC & monitor config, incl. the DPI setting. > >> > > >> > Does Edit/Increase-font-size do anything? > >> > OpenSCAD Admin - email* me if you need anything, or if I've done > >> > something stupid... > >> > * on the Forum, click on my MichaelAtOz label, there is a link to > >> > email me. > >> > > >> > Unless specifically shown otherwise above, my contribution is in the > >> > Public Domain; > >> > to the extent possible under law, I have waived all copyright and > >> > related or neighbouring rights to this work. > >> > Obviously inclusion of works of previous authors is not included in > >> > the above. > >> > > >> > ------------------------- > >> > Sent from the OpenSCAD mailing list archive [1] at Nabble.com. > >> > > >> > > >> > Links: > >> > ------ > >> > [1] http://forum.openscad.org/ > >> > _______________________________________________ > >> > OpenSCAD mailing list > >> > To unsubscribe send an email to [hidden email] > _______________________________________________ > OpenSCAD mailing list > To unsubscribe send an email to [hidden email] -- This email has been checked for viruses by AVG. https://www.avg.com _______________________________________________ OpenSCAD mailing list To unsubscribe send an email to [hidden email] |

If you look at the screenshot, the pop-up dialog has tiny width, but same font.
It may be a Qt bug, but more info needed. > -----Original Message----- > From: Ray West [mailto:[hidden email]] > Sent: Sat, 1 May 2021 21:32 > To: OpenSCAD general discussion > Subject: [OpenSCAD] Re: autocomplete popup VERY small > > It may have been said, but afaik, the pop-up text size/font is the same > as the editor. Hi Harry,
Could you try Edit/Preferences/Editor change Font to a fixed width font, try a couple of different fonts, I have Courier New.
OpenSCAD Admin - email* me if you need anything, or if I've done something stupid...
* on the Forum, click on my MichaelAtOz label, there is a link to email me. Unless specifically shown otherwise above, my contribution is in the Public Domain; to the extent possible under law, I have waived all copyright and related or neighbouring rights to this work. Obviously inclusion of works of previous authors is not included in the above. Sent from the OpenSCAD mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ OpenSCAD mailing list To unsubscribe send an email to [hidden email]

Hi Michael,
No difference with courier font. I tried also lower screen resolution, it's better but i don't want to use that. I bought big screen with highresolution possibility for better preview. I hope it's possible to let developers know it's a good idea to make it possible to change it parametric depending on resolution. Thanks for your great support! I tried to find out if there's a way to change that size and it seems there's no way from application (OpenSCAD) side. All I can find is a fixed 100x100 pixel value in the editor component (QScintilla), so there's not much that can be done within the OpenSCAD source code at this point. ciao, Torsten. _______________________________________________ OpenSCAD mailing list To unsubscribe send an email to [hidden email]

No, but I sent a mail to the QScintilla mailing list (I could not find any other way to contact someone) and there's not much result yet. https://www.riverbankcomputing.com/pipermail/qscintilla/2021-May/thread.html The issue might be even further down the stack, but I guess the first step would be showing context for the issue as the response was that it's not reproducible. ciao, Torsten. _______________________________________________ OpenSCAD mailing list To unsubscribe send an email to [hidden email]

Well, good news and bad news. It seems it can be fixed
in QScintilla. But that also means depending on the platform it might take a while to become accessible. Results in this post: https://www.riverbankcomputing.com/pipermail/qscintilla/2021-May/001496.html ciao, Torsten. _______________________________________________ OpenSCAD mailing list To unsubscribe send an email to [hidden email]
