Nabble removed Mailing-list integration from the Forum.
This killed the Forum. This is now an ARCHIVE.
It is likely Nabble will shutdown in the future.

So basically the Forum is now out of date, we are looking into migrating the history.

OpenSCAD support is now provided by the Mailing List.
See the first pinned post here for instructions on subscribing to the mailing list.

EDIT:

Due to Nabble, the Forum provider, dropping support for Mailing-list integration,

the Forum is basically defunct ATM.

If you post here it will not generally be seen, as people now rely on the Mailing-list.

If you wish to join the OpenSCAD community, use the Mailing-list for now.
Complete steps B. & C. below.

Please reply to emails only on-topic, do not reply and change the subject.
To start a new thread, send a new email to discuss@lists.openscad.org with a new subject.

If you wish to read all messages in one place, see the Mailing-list Archive, but note it has some flaws.

Should the Forum get resurrected, you will need to do steps A. & D. for you to be able to post.

/EDIT.

How it works

There is the Forum (this - hosted by Nabble.com) and the Mailing-list, two separate things, but they work together.

Forum posts get sent to the Mailing-list, many people only read posts via email.
Mailing-list emails, as well as getting sent to all subscribers, get turned into posts on the Forum.

It is important to understand the link.
When you click 'Post Message' the Forum's proto-post gets sent to the Mailing-list by Nabble,
Nabble is also subscribed to the Mailing-list, when the proto-post is received back by Nabble,  it is then created, ie Posted.

Hence even if you just want to use the Forum, you still must be subscribed to the Mailing-list.
You can turn off your mail delivery if you don't want them, see settings below, but you must remain subscribed.

Once registered & subscribed you can either post on the forum and/or send emails to the mailing list.

Registering & Subscribing

Four steps (step D is important):

To post on the Forum you need to be
A. registered* to the Forum, and you need to be:
B. subscribed to the Mailing-list.
*there may be a pop-up Nabble ad, this is normal, see the footer to disable ads.

After subscribing you need to
C. CLICK THE LINK in the confirmation email (check your spam folder).

Due to an increase in SPAM, you need to be granted Membership before you can Post to the Forum.

IMPORTANT!
After Registering & Subscribing*
D. click HERE, to request access, make it clear that you are not a robot, NO generic 'please give me access' etc.
You MUST mention something relevant to this forum,

* Make sure you have subscribed to the Mailing-list before requesting access, an Admin may then complete your Membership.
i.e. If the Admins don't see registration & subscription they may assume you are a spammer.
The Admin will email you to confirm your membership. Depending on time-zones & sleep-cycles, this should be within ~24 hours, often sooner.

Settings

Forum account setting can be changed by clicking on your username in the top right corner.

You can change your Mailing-list settings. You will first need to register. After registering, access your profile.
(you only need to register to the Mailing-list if you want to change default options)
If you just like browsing the Forum, you can disable Mailing-list delivery ; another option is a daily(ish) email digest of the days messages, both via your profile.

Note: if you wish to continue on the Forum, do not unsubscribe from the Mailing-list, remember the Mailing-list is how your Forum posts get sent to everyone else to read.
