Nabble removed Mailing-list integration from the Forum.
This killed the Forum. This is now an ARCHIVE.
It is likely Nabble will shutdown in the future.

So basically the Forum is now out of date, we are looking into migrating the history.

OpenSCAD support is now provided by the Mailing List.

Feature request: extrude along path

Hi Clifford,

With all this 2D infrastructure work you've been doing, have you
noticed any ways you might be able to include the ability to extrude a
2D shape along an arbitrary path?

Thanks!

Andrew.

yeah, that would be nice.
For a simple way of specifying this, look at the VRML97 extrusion node:
http://www.web3d.org/x3d/specifications/vrml/ISO-IEC-14772-VRML97/part1/nodesRef.html#Extrusion

Extruding along a spline would of course be even nicer. I think Art of
Illusion has support for this.
