in order to produce fresh debian packages for openscad, i've created a
launchpad project with that name. this helps me providing up-to-date
packages for debian/ubuntu users that prefer the bleeding edge, and
might aid you by showing failure to build early.
if you want to have access to project, i can assign maintenance to a
team and allow you in (will probably ask marius first).
launchpad offers some additional services, most of which are probably
not interesting in this case (bug management is already established on
the mailing list), but others might be (internationalization /
localization, anybody?). i'm not too experienced in launchpad, but set
up the basics if requested.
(just in case someone gets the wrong impression, i'd just like to note
that this is in no way an attempt to take an inappropriate role in
driving openscad's way of handling things; think of launchpad as a build
server, not as the new way openscad is developed.)
nightly builds yield a first result: the current visitortests branch
(e8b0e09fad) fails to build in ubuntu oneiric (but not natty) as shown
in . a simple solution provided by david goodenough is to #include
<cstddef> in src/CSGTermEvaluator.h. i suppose that some library
included dropped the use of cstddef and it thus has to be included
explicitly now as long as NULL is used.
concerning nightly builds: they won't be really nightly as there are
still problems with tracking branches containing submodules in
launchpad -- for the moment, i have to manually filter the submodules
out of the branch. if the problem persists, i shall try to automate the
filtering on some server so we can have real daily builds.
the resulting packages are available in my dailydebs archive,
proper releases will keep being published in the openscad archive.
