import ("*.stl") and displaying via f5

okies I am having problems with this at times sometimes I need to do F6 in order for an imported stl to display, which means lining up differences, i.e subtracting from the stl properly is sort of a pain in the arse.
anything I can do about this, my computers have hd3k hd4k and 845gl graphics (as you see not really a gamer

What kind of errors are you experiencing?

PS. The latest Intel drivers are reported to fix some issues.
