.ies volume visualization

Hi I'm a truly newbie of javascript, opencad and 3d world. I'm asking to myself if i can visualize in some way the volume of a light distribution in open cad so to give to some user the ability to virtual test lamps via website, withoiut using other commercial software ... in the attachment i've placed the .ies files description, I find on internet some software that show the light distribution as a rendering, I'm not so interested in this but more in the vectorial light distribution visualization so to create a sort or vectorial preview with take in count also light sovrapposition when 2 light overlap themself.

I'm sorry for my bad english and I'll hope that someone can help me in doing this, I can pay something for reaching this goal but didn't have many funds, anyway we can discuss also this aspect

Best regards
Sincerely

Carlo

I guess it all depends on what you're willing to give up. Openscad doesn't do lighting, but the debug operators combined with the intersection might be good enough, if you don't mind all your lights having a red hue:

cylinder(r=20,h=5);

intersection(){
	rotate([0,-50,45])
		#cylinder(r1=10,r2=1,h=40);
	rotate([0,40,0])
		#cylinder(r1=10,r2=1,h=40);
}

[the 'color' operator doesn't seem to affect this debug operator]

If you want a better modelling of lighting and/or colouring transparent cones, I'd suggest blender:
