amd64 version?

Zach Smith
Any chance we could get a precompiled 64bit linux version out?  I just got a new machine that is 64bit and compiling openscad is hopeless for me.

You should find my Ubuntu-packaged version of OpenSCAD in my PPA for
Ubuntu Lucid, in both 32bit and 64bit flavours.  It's based on someone
elses work packaging OpenSCAD, and is a couple of months old now... but
should still work fine.  If you need the absolute latest and greatest,
let me know and I'll see about creating a newer set of packages.

If you are running Debian I can get you a 64bit .deb for that, too, I
expect.  BTW, if you can post more specific details of the "compiling is
hopeless" issue, it might help the OpenSCAD team to improve things in
future.
