Release preparations

kintel
Administrator
Hi all,

There has been a number of good improvements since January, and a number of improvements are in the pipeline.
To give space for future improvements to mature in the master branch and not delay OpenSCAD releases too much, I'm hoping to get a new OpenSCAD release out soon (by soon I mean before end of May).

This is a call for reporting urgent bugs, issues or work-in-progress which should make it into the next release.

Cheers,

 -Marius

Re: Release preparations

Peter Falke
Bug report:

The attached code crashes (on windows 7 starter,  32bit) with:

Assertion failed
(...)
File: /home/don/openscad_deps/mxe/usr/li.../shared_ptr.hpp
Line: 653

Expression:  px !=0

When I explicitly specify height=e in the linear_extrude() then it works.
Strange was that I could not reproduce this crash with an minimum example code.

Sincerely,

TakeItAndRun

P.S. Falls meine E-Mail kürzer ausfällt als Dir angenehm ist:

P.S. In case my e-mail is shorter than you enjoy:

None of my 'works in progress' will be ready for a May release. I will delay merge-request until after the release.

My goal is still to try to have more frequent releases than earlier, so no stress :)

FYI: I've suggested what should make it into the upcoming release here:
https://github.com/openscad/openscad/issues?milestone=1&state=open

It's mostly small things - nothing which would need extensive testing.

Feel free to suggest more things. Developer time is limited, but if suggestions are accompanied with pull requests, things are more likely to make it :)
