Preview window keeping focus

shadowwynd
PC#1: AMD A8, Win7 Home 64bit, 16GB RAM, AMD Radeon GPU.
PC#2: Intel i7, Win7 Pro 64bit, 16GB RAM, AMD Radeon GPU.

I have been having a random issue on two different computers regarding
OpenSCAD.  At some point - usually days - the preview window on OpenSCAD get
focus (such as rotating a model) and then doesn't give it back; I can still
rotate the model but nothing else in the menubar or editor responds to
keyboard or mouse clicks.

I have noticed that this issue seems to have some relationship to other
programs running on the system.  Sometimes if I close out Vivaldi (Chromium
based browser), this causes the OpenSCAD issue to temporarily resolve
(perhaps enough to save my work).  Other times closing Notepad++ or Word
might fix the issue temporarily.

Once it starts doing it, a system reboot is the only way to really fix it.
Closing OpenSCAD and restarting it does nothing to fix the problem.
OpenSCAD loads, but the problem remains and the editor and menubar will not
take clicks / keystrokes.  It requires a full reboot.  The last time this
happened, I upgraded from the December 2017 build (I think) to the June 2018
build.  I made sure OpenSCAD was closed, installed the new version.  I could
open the Preferences tab (hadn't previewed a model yet) - and while I could
scroll up and down (with the mousewheel) in the preferences, I couldn't
click anything - I could not interact with the preference elements or click
on the scroll bar.  After a reboot everything works fine.

OpenSCAD is the only program that seems to be affected this way.  It is a
random issue and I haven't identified a trigger other than hitting F5 to
preview a model.

Thoughts?  Anyone else hit this snag?

Interesting, I though my PC (W7/64) was flaky.
I get the same thing with OpenSCAD from time to time.
Are you perhaps an Autohotkey user? That is what I seem to associate it
with.
If I reload a script it seems to recover, but not always.

I am using AutoHotKey.  I will try reloading scripts or terminating AHK the
next time it goes screwy and see if that helps anything.

Glad to know it isn't just me.

This is purely random neural associations, but I suspect the AHK keyboard
hooks may be involved.

Have you tried killing explorer so that it then auto restarts? I have an AHK shortcut for this!

Failing that, logging out and back in is often quicker than a reboot and fixes most things.
