Thanks to the Google Season of Docs program, we will soon
have a set of scalable lessons intended to help teach STEM
concepts with OpenSCAD. The first lessons already exist,
more will follow in the coming weeks. And many thanks to
Isabella Forst for taking on this project which will
hopefully make OpenSCAD much easier to use in education.
The current focus is on creating the lessons. The plan is
to publish the complete set via Wikibooks later in a more
polished format.
Lesson plans are designed in accordance with the Standards
for Technological Literacy set forth by the International
Technology Educators Association (
https://www.iteea.org/).
The main repository for the ongoing work is:
https://github.com/ijforst/gsod-workflow-openscadThe introduction can be found at:
https://github.com/ijforst/gsod-workflow-openscad/blob/master/teacher-startup-guideLessons are added as pull requests for now and are listed
at:
https://github.com/ijforst/gsod-workflow-openscad/pullsIt would be nice to hear feedback about the first lessons
and suggestions from people who have classroom teaching
experience.
ciao,
Torsten.
