No top level object found error

Jeshua Lacock

Greetings,

I am closely following the tutorial at:

http://repraprip.blogspot.com/2011/05/inkscape-to-openscad-dxf-tutorial.html

And after successfully saving the .dxf file, and entering this line into a new OpenSCAD document:

linear_extrude(height = 10) import("test.dxf");

I get this error no matter what I try:

ERROR: CSG generation failed! (no top level object found)

Note that I get the same error when saving from Adobe Illustrator as well as Inkscape.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I just noticed that I am getting this error before the one reported:

ERROR: linear_extrude() is not defined for 3D child objects!

Brillant! Thank you!

BTW: do you know of any script or way to create beveled extrusions?
