Is mirroring 4x90 degrees quicker to render than 1x360?

In  general is it worth it to use mirror when you have 2 axis of symmetry on an object? Would it cache and render quicker than just doing the whole object?

Not generally, as the cost of unioning four objects could be higher than the cost of creating them.
