Importing DXF as lines

NathanA
Why does this DXF file import with alternating solid and hollow parts? I just want it to import the lines, which I will then offset to give them some width.

If only enclosed shapes are possible and it is impossible to import lines, is there a way I can edit the DXF so that it imports the shape I want?

There is no such thing as a line in Openscad. Only closed 2D and 3D shapes.
